Here is a place for STEM students to show their talents outside the lab. You will work as reporters, graphic designers, photographers and more to tell GTIIT stories. Come and join GTIIT Student Media Center and be one of them to explore the unexpected!

Introduction

Under the guidance of GTIIT Party organization and the supervision of News and Public Affairs Department, GTIIT Student Media Center is a press corps composed of GTIIT students, with the purpose of "enriching and enlivening campus culture". It provides abundant hands-on opportunities in journalism and social media. Any enrolled student has the ability to create media that interest them.

What will you gain?

• Interviewing, writing, shooting, designing and other related experience and skills;

• Professional lectures and training about news writing, photography and other related skills;

• Excellent works will be published on GTIIT official media platforms, and recommended to major news media;

• One-to-one guidance from NPA staff;

• Students with outstanding performance will be awarded as GTIIT Outstanding Student Journalist.

Our Departments

The Center has three departments: News Writing Department, News Photography Department and Design Department, all led by staff advisers. We encourage students to join different groups to diversify your skills.

News Writing Department

Interview and write campus news in both Chinese and English;

Interview big names from all walks of life and get the opportunity to communicate with them face to face;

Plan topics to show GTIIT in a variety of forms...

News Photography Department

Take photos of campus activities, scenery, etc.;

Shoot and edit videos;

Plan and produce various themes of photography and videos...

Design Department

Design posters, banners, publicity materials, etc.;

Assist in typesetting on the new media platform;

Plan and design original graphic content...

Student Work

Since its establishment, GTIIT Student Media Center has provided a wealth of practical opportunities for student journalists including all kinds of campus activities, celebrity interviews, academic lectures and more.

Interviews

The student journalists conducted one-to-one interviews with academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professors and other well-known experts and scholars, learning about their study and research and gaining valuable life experience during the conversation.

The student journalists presented nearly 10 lecture reviews for Guangdong-Technion Leadership in Science and Technology Lecture Series. They are not only the receivers of cutting-edge information in academia, but also the recorders and disseminators of science.

Please send a 100-word self-introduction with the subject of "name + department + grade + program" to news@gtiit.edu.cn. Attach any articles, pictures, videos, designs, paintings or other personal works if you have. Successful applicants will become members of the Student Media Center.
